You may never know the impact you make in people’s lives

Well it’s time for the final stretch as a full time missionary. I gave my departing testimony at Zone Conferece and it simply didn’t seem right. I am blessed to be constantly busy wuth our english classes, lessons, meetings and working on our Facebook pages. My companions are amazing and eventhough next transfer will be their last on the field, they always help me stay motivated and excited about the work.
How could I not? There are so many wondeful things happening! Our friend Eddy keeps progressing each week. Last Thursday we mentioned familysearch.org and he was very interested about it. We didn’t think he would have much time to look through it so we decided to walk him through it the next day. We got on the call and he told us he had made an account! We showed him how to create people and add records for his family and he was SO excited. At the end we asked him to say the prayer as usual and he smiled and said he would gladly do it.
A month ago when we started teaching him he didn’t like praying. He didn’t understand why bad things happen to good people and for many years he didn’t want to have a relationship with God because of that. But now, he calls us to thank us for helping him see God in his life. He tells us of the nights he wakes up to pray and give thanks to God for his family and the blessings in his life. I couldn’t be more excited for him. He is changing because he is deciding to let God prevail in his life.
Yesterday was magical as well. Every first Sunday of the month we fast for two meals as a worldwide church and give an amount of money to the church so that other people can have what to eat. In this day we also have a diferent program from the rest of the month. Instead of having an assigned speaker from the congregation to share their thougths that day, everyone has the opportunity to share what they are grateful for and what God has been teaching them.
We have two sessions every sunday in the Moorestown ward, one for the high risk and the other for the families, so yesterday we got to hear the testimonies of many people. In the first session many members got up and shared how much they are grateful for the past 30, 50, 67 years or more since they joined the church of Jesus Christ. A member approached us after the meeting and told us this:
“You girls may not know this but with the exception of my wife, every member there this morning is a convert to the church. You missionaries may never know the impact you make in people’s lives, but we do”

That really touched me. I came on a full time mission to learn more about my Heavenly Father and about my Savior and to share my testimony of them. To show the light of Christ that is in my life that can also be in theirs and I’ve had moments in the past 18 months that I was priviledged to see God working his miracles in people’s lives, and I am grateful that God granted me this wonderful gift.
Yesterday we watched the Christmas devotional the church broadcasted. Below is the link if you want to listen to great music and thoughts on Christ’s birth! This is a quote by Brent H. Nielsen I loved from the devo:
“Look up to God and live”
I love you all and I hope you are well!
