Prayers Are NOT Words Lost in Heaven
Prayers Are NOT Words Lost in Heaven

Having a car on the mission is definitely a privilege not all missionaries have. It's also very scary to know you are subject to any kind of accidents regardless if you are a missionary or not. Sister Monson and I were in a car accident last Monday. Lucky it wasn't too bad. We were stopped at the stop light. The car in front of us stopped quickly so we had to stop quickly too. Both of us saw the lady in the car behind us come to a complete stop through the mirrors but unfortunately the car behind hers couldn't stop in time so he hit the lady, who hit us and we hit the car in front of us. I was shaking a bit but I was feeling better than my companion who had a couple panic attacks that day.
The accident wasn't terrible but it made me think about how God really answers prayers. I know many people pray for me and other missionaries around the world and believe me we appreciate it. I can speak for myself at least. I know God listens to every person's prayer. He is with all of us. I am so grateful to know I can rely on a powerful being who knows all things and that may seem to be far away, but in reality, he's right by my side. He guides me and protects me through the Holy Ghost. I know it to be true. I know that one of the Holy Ghost's roles is to be a comforter. Sister monson was going through a hard time that day after the accident. I was still shaken up too but I was calm enough to calm my companion. I know God uses people to help others. He either gives us the strength to comfort others when they need, or gives the humility to ask for help. He is an interesting being and definitely works in mysterious ways.
Well, since we have to take the car in to repair, we will be biking for about a week soon enough. That should be interesting.
On a happy note, we went to a baptism on Saturday! It was great. The spirit was definitely there and that family will be incredibly blessed for the decision the father made to enter the covenant path along with them.
Fun fact: I was the chorister for the baptism which most of you might know, I don't know how to do such a thing. One of the elders later came to congratulate me for creating a new way to lead music and I just responded, "Well, after all my 24 hours of experience you get the hang of it"… Fun times.
Covering a large area has its perks. We are over a family area and the Young Single Adults area which consists of the entire state of Delaware, half of Maryland and the very bottom of Pennsylvania. We don't get to go to the beach because it is two hours away and no YSA members live close to it, but we went to visit a girl who just moved to our YSA area and she lives across the ocean! It was great. We spent a few minutes of our dinner hour checking it out. Super cool.
Blessings upon blessings. I know my Heavenly Father is aware of me just as much and he is aware of you. He watches over me 24/7. (even when I am in a car but it doesn't mean I don't have the responsibility to wear my seatbelt.) I pray for guidance and protection every single day and I know he grants it to me every time. I am blessed. Once again, I appreciate all the prayers directed to me and other missionaries across the globe. I know Heavenly Father hears every single one of them. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
