Hey everyone!! Crazy couple of weeks but great things happened! Last Monday was a little chaotic because we found out we would be in a trio!! Sister Shock is our new companion and she is amazing!! She’s from Utah and served in the Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo Mission for 8 months before going back home and being reassigned here. She has so much energy and eats healthy so I hope I learn some good healthy recipes from her! She works hard everyday and the Portuguese area definitely needed her fresh eyes at this time to refine what we have been doing.
Some of you already know my brother Douglas (Elder Santos I should say) and my family are coming to the Philly temple so he can receive his endownments. After two weeks of waiting for permission from different people, I will be able to attend as well! I’m excited for my little brother and the new promises he will make with our dear Heavenly Father!
Some lessons we had planned for fell through lately but we are still hopeful. A few of our friends are progressing in Gospel learning besides English classes and I am excited for them. They work hard to care for their families and I feel blessed to understand their situation. It’s hard but the Lord is behind the wheel.
I love these people and I am grateful to be serving them. They trust us and know we are a different people because of the values we live and I am excited to continue to work with them.
Conference this weekend was SO GREAT! There’s so much I loved from our general authority’s words but Elder Godoy’s words were my favorite as he talked about our efforts to grow and help others grow closer to God and our Savior Jesus Christ. He said a few things along the lines of,
“Find your Sacred Grove… Don’t be just an observer of the Gospel. Please don’t give up and adjust as necessary… The Lord is looking for angels…”
Then he asked,
“are you willing to be an angel for others?”
I want to invite you to think of someone and figure out how the Lord wants you to be an angel to bear them up. I know blessings will come for both of you!
