I’m a Cow Whisperer

The problem of being in a semi rural area with lots of crazy people is that you can barely get any lessons during the week and it gets even harder when they are older people who can’t figure out how to work zoom on their phones or computers… So what’s happening? Member work as usual. The members here are the sweetest and are often reaching out to check up on us. I also got to have the Sacrament the past two Sundays!!! What a blessing it is to remember the covenants I made at baptism in this sacred and special moment. Bishop Seraydarian had us over both times and his family is so welcoming and sweet, specially Maggie and Homer, their bulldogs! I am in love with them!!

Since I’ve got some time oh my hands I’ve been trying to keep myself busy and focused. It’s hard not to give in to lazyness when there’s only so much you can do… So I’ve been studying, drawing, knitting and reading besides trying to contact people who don’t want to talk to us, most of the time 🙄.

I recently started reading this book that one of my favorite members in Morrisville gave me (shout out to Sister Ross ❤). It is called Live Up to Our Privileges: Woman, Power and Priesthood by Wendy Ulrich. What a book! I barely started and it has opened my mind in how our loving Heavenly Father has His power revolved around his children. It is amazing and I am so grateful to know that it is a gift from him to his faithful and worthy servants. We can have daily access to this power depending on how we show our love for Him through the promisses we make at baptism!

I love this gospel so much and eventhough it sucks to be stuck inside without the comfort of home, I feel blessed and my family is blessed also. The Lords seems my efforts and I know that no effort is wasted.

“17 Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed.” (D&C 123:17)

Our dear Father in Heaven is watching over us. If we give our efforts to him and ask for his support “he will consecrate [our] performance” (2 Nephi 32:9). I’ve felt it and it is a wonderful feeling.

Jesus loves you and I love you. Stay safe and stay sane my friends!

Fun fact: So… something Sister Monson taught me my first three months on the mission was that if you moo at a cow, they will moo back. I’ve been doing this my whole mission since she told me that. Now here’s the fun stuff, we drove past this cow farm with at least some 50 cows and I had to do my thing…. and HALF OF THEM LOOKED AT ME!! I felt accomplished. Thought to share my life in quarantine with y’all! Next I need to wait for them to moo back.
