First 5 days of Training

Hi friends!!! This week has been a blast!! My new companion is Sister Fauset. She's from Heber, Utah and she is great! We had a fun 5 days so far.

To start off, I need to serve in the Pennypack ward. I was companions with sister Wilhoit in her area while we were waiting for our baby missionaries and it was simply the best. We had a couple of lessons but the best part was going to some Brazilian places to eat. Oh I miss my Brazilian people, my coxinhas and passionfruit mousse. We also had dinner with a Brazilian family from Manaus and it was pretty great to talk in Portuguese with them. Turns out there are no good places to buy brazilian pizza and it makes me sad, but that's ok. We bought some pizza crusts and I will make some homemade chocolate pizza and chicken with catupiriry. Yummm.

Things are great. We have been trying our best to find people and see the miracles in our area this transfer. On Saturday we stopped by one of our recent converts to set up a time for an FHE with her family but she wasn't home so we decided to stop by Susan, someone we have been trying to have a lesson with. We got there and we saw her about to go inside. We said a prayer and two of her sketchy looking neighbors came out to talk just before she came out to walk her dog. Sister Fauset wanted to wait a little bit longer but it was a perfect opportunity so I just said, "It's your first awkward moment! Let's go!!" So we just got out of the car and talked to Susan and her neighbor for an hour. It was the first time she gave a Book of Mormon to someone. We are seeing them again on Thursday. Training is fun. There are some things we can still do better to keep mission rules but we are trying. I'm excited to be with Sister Fauset for the next 12 weeks. We will be able to to go the temple and the Priesthood Restoration Site. I can't wait!

I love you all and I hope you can be seeing the small miracles in your lives this week. Use the divine gifts you have personally received to share the light of Christ with others, and remember, "…every good gift cometh of Christ." (Moroni 10:18)
