It is set. Our house is really haunted. Two nights ago, as I was saying our nightly companionship prayer, Sister Perez’s phone fell from the nightstand and we DON’T KNOW HOW. It was sitting there for a couple of minutes with nothing underneath that could’ve made it slide off. Crazy times you guys. We have another set of christmas lights in our room now 😂. Because of Covid, our president wants to be cautious in having someone come and bless our apartment so there’s that too.
Besides that, we were able to see multiple miracles this week. By the way, since we are opening new areas in the mission in portuguese, we get to teach english as a service oportunity! We posted it in a few local groups on Facebook and altogether we received over 200 responses!!
That reminds me of a talk I read this week by Elder M Russell Ballard called “Doctrine of Inclusion”. He gives multiple reasons why we shouldn’t ignore our neighbors for their religious affiliation or political choices, but to love and serve them.
“For the most part, our neighbors not of our faith are good, honorable people—every bit as good and honorable as we strive to be.”
As I read this I had the portuguese speaking people in Moorestown in mind. In a way, these comunities have been “ignored” or avoided because of language barriers by missionaries. But because of this outbreak, because so many american missionaries who were in other countries were sent back, because some of those who were in portuguese speaking missions were reasigned to the Pennsylvania Philadelphia Mission, These people can have the chance to hear our message.
This is so special for me to see. It’s my people!!! God’s plans are perfect and they have the power to involve eternal blessings within temporal turmoil.
This week has been the best example of it for me. Some Elders in the other NJ mission sent a couple people who are interested in english lessons who live in the area and one of them was Leandra. What a lady!
She’s been in the country for 4 years and just now she is finally able to take time to learn English. Besides being so determined to learn the language, she also has strong faith in our Savior. She is active in a different church but she loves hearing a spiritual message at the end class. She is so sweet and loves her family very much. Makes me happy to be helping her at this moment in her life!
Also, we fasted as a mission this weekend and I have been able to see great miracles because of it. Just before starting to fast on Saturday, I talked to this one guy on messenger who lives in the area who was interested in hearing a message. We called him yesterday and he is so cool!! He is looking for a church he feels good being baptized in and as we talked to him we could feel the spirit with us. He started looking for God in his life just about a year ago and we could tell he believed in the short message we shared with him. His week is very busy but we will be teaching him again next Saturday. I am excited. The Lord truly blesses those who seek him.
So yeah, besides having a haunted house, the spirit of God is still with us. Miracles are happening. God is perfect and knows what he is doing. Trust in him and in his timing. He will bless you because of your faith. I know it to be true.
I love you all,
