A Haunted House and Two Scared Sisters

Took my blanket out of my suitcase this week because it’s FALL!!!! My favorite season of the year ❤️

So guess what?! The Philadelphia Temple is under Phase 2, which means there are people coming more often to be married for all eternity (we call Sealings) or to receive their Endownments, which means to make more covenants with our Heavenly Father in His house!! They need lots of volunteers to be sanitizing and keeping the temple safe of the Rona during this pandemic, so they called on the missionaries that live close to the temple! Sister Perez and I are part of these lucky missionaries that get to be doing this every week!

I love the temple and the peaceful spirit that dwells within those hallowed walls. It is a place where we can feel closer to our Father in Heaven and receive guidance and comfort. We make more promises with Him and feel closer to Heaven in his Holy House.

Also the workers are simply the sweetest people. Our car key decided to stop working so three guys came to help us out. We brought them cookies and brownies in the past couple of weeks so they call us “the favorite sisters” now 😄

English Lessons are going strong and I love it. It’s so rewarding to be helping these friends. Ricardo is also doing SO great! He LOVES the “Our Heritage” book about the early members of the church and wants to keep learning more about our religion. For our english lesson this week we helped him write a prayer in english and I included a picture of what he wrote down below. It filled my heart to hear those words coming from him. I am excited to visit Salvador one day haha

I’ve been studying the Bible lately and I love all the symbolisms of Christ’s Atonement. He loves us so much; broken people that make mistakes all the time but his merciful arms are always opened to receive us when we come to him with broken hearts.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name – John 1:12

We have the light of Christ in us and slowly, everytime we return to him with humble hearts, we receive guidance from his Holy Spirit.

“Be thou humble in thy pleading, and the Lord thy God shall bless thee,
Shall bless thee with a sweet and calm assurance that he cares.”

I love you all!!

5-7. We went on exchanges with the Morrisville sisters and 1) We went to the Amish Market with Sis Wilhoit and her comp and 2) I got to call two of my favorite people in that ward. One of them knew who it was after I said “hi”. It literally made my night. I miss that ward so much 🧡❤🧡❤
