What. A. Week.!!!!
I hope everyone is seeing the miracles Heavenly Father places in your lives each day because as small as they can be, they are always there!!!
Transfers were this week, so I had to say goodbye to some excellent friends I made these past few transfers. But that’s ok, they are off to do some great work in their new areas!!
I’m staying in Mooresville for another transfer!! I just realized I will be here for a third of my mission if I leave after the next 5 weeks!! Not only that but I’m pumped especially because our plans for the youth have been so rewarding!! Our missionary month every Wednesday night with the youth has officially started, and last week was a blast! We had the experience a missionary’s life by feeding their spirit (playing gospel Kahoot), feeding their bodies (eating a donut without their hands), exercising (push-ups, squats, etc), have companion unity (three-legged races) and their personal favorite from what we heard, knocking doors (church rooms) and inviting people to learn about the gospel.
There was this one moment we were walking around and checking on everyone. I heard one of the companionship knocking on doors and little “Elder Darrington” was talking to the brother on the other side of the door and this is how it went:
Little Elder Darrington: “So we are missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We have a question for you Sir. (Reading the pass along card) “How can I find lasting happiness?”
The brother: “… Wait… can you find lasting happiness?”
Little Elder Darrington: “No, no, no. How can YOU find lasting happiness?” (pointing to him)
The brother: “Aah….”
We went to help him afterwards but the way he said it was pretty hilarious lol. Love those kids. We were also asked to plan a missionary panel for one of the stations at the Young Woman’s Stake activity this Saturday. Two other companionship came, and some Q&A was great!! Some girls went to their leaders afterwards to let them know it was their favorite station or that they wanted to serve missions. There is beauty in sharing how much love you can have for this work. I love it!!
My title today comes from the funniest member in our congregation! Sister Fauset and I had to give talks yesterday. Sister Fauset mentioned in her talk something I told her a few times that “after this area, your other areas might only go downhill”. Brother Pray came to let us know what he told his wife right after her comment 😂. Good Stuff.
Have fun this week everyone! I love you all!!
