Cheesecake and Naps

Yes, our new apartment is a little scary. Since we moved in we have felt like there’s someone watching or the bedroom door opens here and there… Fun times. Hopefully soon we’ll get to have it blessed. Our new place is smaller than the apartment in Woodstown, but we did some cleaning today and reorganizing all morning long and now it looks a little better. I guess that’s what happens when two latinas live together, not even the fridge escaped us this time.

Good stuff!! Tuesday was a long day in the car. Uff. A total of 6 and a half hours of travel, three states, and 7 different trips. Sister Horner is now in Delaware and Sister Perez and I are in the middle of lots of portuguese speakers. Best part? BRAZILIAN BAKERIES. Oh how I missed yummy brazilian food.

We also have been in contact with some missionaries over a portuguese page in the Morestown New Jersey Mission because they had some people who live in our area to refer to us!! Super nice elders. Little fun fact, I mention Douglas is up there, and guess what?! He’s in their district! the moment I mentioned his name they told me how funny he is. Makes me happy to know he is having a good time on his mission in quarantine so far.

Also, we are now able to go to church!! Some guidelines have to be followed as we resume back to church meetings around the mission boudaries. Only 25 people can be at the building at at time so we got to attend one of the sacrament meetings yesterday. It was so great. We wanted to meet our new ward so we called President Dunnigan the day before asking if we could stay outside for each session and he gave us the aproval if it was also ok with the bishop! We asked bishop and we had the opportunity to do so. The Moorestown ward haven’t seen sisters in a few years and aparently some members have been praying for it to happen. They are so sweet haha.

I’ve been thinking lately about the choices we have to either be selfish or to be Christlike. To strive to be better by helping others. I love this story from President Hinckley, a past president of the church, about two boys who answered a stranger’s prayer by a simple choice. (Check out the video 😉).

Blessings ALWAYS come for both parties when we strive to love those around us. I know it to be true.

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (Matthew 22:37-39)

Stay safe my friends. I love you all.
