Happy Monday Again

I love this area. I am so blessed for having the opportunity to spend time with the families in the ward and see how happy they are. Not perfect but how they choose to express their love for one another.

Being a missionary has its perks. I get to see how much love couples have and how much they love each other. I could see that at my house before my mission and now I see it every week! Imperfect couples choosing to love each other and finding reasons to smile and enjoy each others companies. It makes me want that happiness with my future family.

Gods plan for us is the Plan of Happiness. He wants us to enjoy our lives, enjoy our families and rejoice for being able to go through sorrow and see Gods hand in our lives. I’m a strong believer of that. I know that God wants me to be happy with the family I have and the family I’ll have one day.

God loves us so much that he finds ways to let us know we have a purpose to be here on the Earth. One person who also believes in that is Chris. We started teaching him a couple weeks ago. After a health scare, Chris always felt like God had a purpose for him after giving him a second chance. He’s an active member in a different denomination but he’s very opened to learn about our beliefs. The last time we met with him we gave him a Book of Mormon and he’s been reading it. He wants to read the whole book before deciding to keep meeting with us or not.

God is good. He knows our hearts and make it possible for us to get closer to him and the Savior.

Fun story. Sister Monson and I are outside of Panera Bread using the wifi (again) to write the ward weekly email with our Books of Mormon on the table. Sterling walks by looking at us and comes back a couple minutes later and says "I want to know what you girls are reading because I saw a light around you". Now, I don’t know if he was high or not but we did talk to him about the Book of Mormon. He’s been trying to fix his life by looking for a testimony in the Bible. We invited Sterling to come to church with us and he came! He said he felt good and welcomed. Super excited for him.

Fun Fact: The sister who is moving from the ward cleaned up her three refrigerators and gave us a bunch of food, specially frozen fruits for smoothies! Also, another family gave us honey from their garage beehives haha. I love these people.

I love this gospel and I know Christ is the firm foundation that keeps my life in balance with all the bad things in the world. I know that I can be happy if I trust my God and my Savior at all times. I know that if the foundation of my life is Christ, "I will not he shaken" (Jacob 7:5). In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
