The Brethren – Elder D. Todd Christoferson spoke to us this week!!

Coming up to 57 days in Quarantine people!!!! And to think I was hoping it would only last a few weeks… Oh well. Life still goes on just like toilet paper is still a must!

Happy Mother's Day to all the loving women that I know! Your love and example are what shapes this world to be better! I love my beautiful mother who taught me the importance of keeping a close relationship with my Heavenly Father. I definitely wouldn't be who I am if it wasn't for her. I love you mom! ❤

So… It's been a couple of weeks. Still talking to cows since I can't talk to humans, but we roll with it! Teaching people over phone calls and Zoom is for sure not my favorite but what can I do, right? The spirit is always present in our calls so I can't complain. The Lord is good to us!

Specially me! Can you believe in the past couple of weeks missionaries around the mission have reached to me asking to join in lessons or chats with brazilian people?!! It is always such a blessing to share Christ's gospel in my native language!

Just a couple weeks ago I joined in a lesson with a mother and her two daughters. They were baptized in brazil 2 years ago but recently moved to the United States! One of the daughters started meeting with missionaries after she met them at the bakery she worked at. Mileny was the first to be baptized and a few months later her sister and her mother joined her. They are AMAZING!! They love this gospel so much and they are not ashamed in sharing their beliefs in school and everywhere they go! They are so great!

All I know is that I am hoping there is at least one sister that speaks portuguese to get reassigned to our mission so we can be teaching these people together!! Oh yes, By the way, our mission is about to double its size in the next few months. We are expecting about 100 american missionaries to be reassigned to our mission from different countries! It will be a party and a half! All I have to say is that President Dunnigan will need some extra prayers for the next few months… What a man.

Anyways, I am surviving. Missing family is a daily struggle but also a motivation. It's easy to catch myself being discouraged but I'm still here, aren't I? Might as well make the most out of it and enjoy every minute that I have! My friends, if youre struggling, be patient and reach out and reach in for help. Christ knows how you feel and you also have friends to help lift you up. If you are doing well, be that friend!!

I love you all! Stay sane and stay well,

Sister Santos.

Ps: We also had a special devotional this week with Elder Christoferson. He is a man called of God to help faithful servants grow closer to Him. I could feel it as he spoke to our mission!

1. Mothers have a divine mission and President Henry B. Eyring reminded me of that this week ❤

2. Elder Christoferson laughing at something we said… just kidding, I wish, he's still cool tho! Something he said was that the first presidency prays for the members but specially the missionaries. I could feel the love and sincerity in his voice and I am grateful to know the presidency of the church trusts in me while I'm here on my mission to share the gospel with others.

3. Happy Mother's Day!! Family Home Evening with my beautiful family was the best part of my day!

4. Kicks and giggles for my fellow missionaries 😉

5&6.  thanks to my mom I have my camera to take pics around 😍
