7 weeks until 🏠

Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes last week! Made my week even more special ❤

These weeks have been flying by!! So much has happened! Ok, remember our friend who brought her daughters to church last week? The daughters came to the Trunk or Treat activity at church on Saturday! The members opened their trunks with some cute little decorations so the kids could go to each car and get candy as if it was a house they had to knock on for halloween. Super sweet! The girls loved it and our sweet young woman that we meet weekly over zoom surprised us all with her Portuguese skills! Claire is taking spanish at school but two weeks ago she decided to learn portuguese with us to connect with the girls we bring to church! We taught her a few words and phrases so far but can you believe this 16 year old girl has also been reading and listening to audiobooks in portuguese??!! She also has her own bussiness she runs online with her mom, and guess what. from her bussiness she already saved up enough money to serve a mission!! I have a lot to learn from Claire.

We went through all our contacts inviting people to church this Sunday and Leandro asked for the address. He messaged the free English Classes page we run asking for english classes back in the beginning of August. We tried setting up lessons with him but our schedules never matched. We didn’t think he would actually come, up to the moment we were standing by the chapel’s door and this man we never saw comes to us speaking portuguese. I was confused until he introduced himself. Afterwards we showed him around the building and the baptismal fount. He said he was baptized when he was an infant but has been going to different churches trying to find the one for him. We told him we can teach him about our beliefs and he is SUPER interested. We are praying our schedules start matching from now on!

We also had Flavia come to church with her husband. She is the sweetest and is currently trying to give up coffee. She’s amazing and she loved coming to church. Her husband seemed to like it as well and invited us to visit their church sometime.

In the past 2 weeks we had 7 different people come to church. The Lord is truly blessing us and this area. I don’t think I have been as busy on my mission like we are now and I am grateful to be here. I only have 7 more weeks to be serving full time as a missionary for this amazing church!

I know God loves each of his children and he works miracles in their lives. Michelle D. Cregg said,

“Even in our busy lives, we can follow the example of Jesus and see individuals—their needs, their faith, their struggle, and who they can become.”

I am grateful to see Christ changing people around here. This week I had a moment of uncertainties but yesterday we sang How Firm a Foundation. This verse spoke to me and I hope you feel God’s love as well!

3.Fear not, I am with thee; oh, be not
dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee
aid.
I’ll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause
thee to stand,
Upheld by my righteous, upheld by my
righteous,
Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent
hand.
