13 months at Phase 1!!

Hello!! Life is great my friends let me tell ya! As of this week, the area presidency granted us with some BOPPING news. We are now entering phase 1 in missionary work to get out of self isolation, which for our mission means, meals from members are now allowed, we can use the church buildings and go to people’s house’s to teach. We can also have in person meetings and P-days with other missionaries!!! Of course, we still have to wear masks and stay 6ft apart from everyone along with some other guidelines, but still, great news!! I’m just super excited to see other missionaries again!

Opening an area has many perks, specially during quarantine. We have a lot to do everyday and it is SO great!! There is SO much to do and I love it! We work with the members, our facebook page, plan for english lessons, some family history and call missionaires to help with content for our page (if you don’t know where to find it, I’ll include the link at the end of the email!).

We also had the chance to do service this week at the Bishop Storehouse and guess who we saw?! Our friend MARVIN! He volunteers there every week and we were hoping to see him when we found out we were going there. He was so surprised in seeing us and it was a very sweet moment. I missed him.

We finally had our apartment blessed!! We had to spend the night at a different Sister’s house in Philly because of some guidelines we have to follow but it is all good now! The priesthood is real you guys!

And I actually started to apreciate this divine power a little bit more this week. I came across this story in Mathew 17 about the apostles not being able to cast out an evil spirit from a child. Christ lovingly but firmily reminds them that he wouldn’t be among them from too long and for them to shape up, in a way. The apostles ask why they weren’t able to cast it out and Christ teached them something really important. 20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. 21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting

Priesthood power is there. It always is. But just like faith, without works it doens’t change anything. Without feeding the spirit, it can become weak.

I am so grateful for Priesthood Power. These missionaries were sure to keep their worthiness to use God’s power to bless our apartment even after 3 months of being stuck inside. I am grateful for the wonderful mission president I have that presides over the mission with God’s power and love.

Stay strong everyone! This pandemic didn’t happen on accident. Our Father in Heaven planned it all out. It may be hard at times but the sweetness of his blessings will come. They always come in his timing.

I love you all!!

Sister Santos
